Founded in 1997, Chery Automobile is China 's fastest growing car maker, with 8,000 employees in its more than 1.1 million sqm factory and an annual production capacity of more than 350,000 and 400,000 engines. Chery currently exports vehicles to 40 over countries.

In cooperation with top engineering Co. such as Lotus (UK), Mitsubishi ( Japan ) and designers (Bertone/Pininfarina), Chery is committed in developing world class products.

In a 2004 J.D. Power quality study, Chery's QQ recorded 20% less issues than its competitors, placing it first in the segment.

Cited as the “next Toyota ”, a strategic partnership is formed in 2005 between Chery and Visionary Vehicles of the USA for launching Chery products in North America in 2007.

Having “rising star” acknowledgement, Chery has earned many awards domestically and won acclaims from overseas through its relentless breakthrough.

MILESTONES:

Dec 1999: The production of 1st Chery vehicle rolled out from assembly line.
Feb 2000:  Passed 40 national tests including Auto Face-Bumping Test.
Jun 2001: The 10,000th Chery automobile produced.
Oct 2001: 1st unit of overseas vehicle produced and exported (Syria).
May 2002:  Passed the 1st Auto Side-Bumping Test in National Auto Test Center (TianJin).
Aug 2002: Became the 1st China Auto manufacturer getting ISO/TS 16949 certificate at the approval of TUV, Germany.
2002:   Annual sales volume of 50,000 vehicles.
Feb 2003:  Signed agreement to establish plant in Iran.
Mar 2003:  The 100,000th Chery automobile produced, 6th overseas market exported. Established Automotive Engineering R&D Institute.
May 2003:   Chery Windcloud honored as “The Quality Auto of 2003”.
Sep 2003:  Chery FlagCloud appointed as racing car for National Automobile short-distance Championships by China Auto Sports Association.
2004:   Chery production 200,000units, adopts DURR Paint Systems.
2005:   Partnership with Visionary Vehicles USA for 2007 export.
Chery QQ ranked no. 1 in JD Power 2004 (compact car segment).
Chery No.2 Engine Plant starts manufacturing China’s first high-performance Euro IV engines in cooperation with AVL List of Austria.
2006:   Exports 5,000 engines to United States, making breakthrough in China’s home brand automobile.
